***15% of my profits go to Friends of the Earth: www.foe.org.

I sometimes describe myself as a motorcycle riding, former hippie married to a former Recon Marine. Because of this, I am convinced the universe has a sense of humor and more than a little irony. In my adult life I have studied, and practiced, many spiritual disciplines. These practices have strongly influenced my work. I often dream my paintings or see them in meditations.

I am a multi-media artist painting in mixed media on paper and large oils on lightly textured canvas. I taught myself to oil paint at 14 from a paint by number kit, developing my own methods of mixing and layering to create depth, texture and movement. These large scale paintings are very symbolic and interpretive, a form of expressionism. My works on watercolor paper are whimsical and light, sometimes with an underlying political/ social message. Many are done in a narrative style using animals to represent messages about the environment, religious conflict, and sometimes just intentional humor.

All work is the sole property of the artist.
